Our Team
Denise Mosawi – Destineering Founder, MBA
Denise isn't a stranger to making life-changing decisions. She spent 18 years successfully climbing the corporate career ladder only to find it was leaning against the wrong wall. After much soul-searching she decided to quit her Head of Organisational Effectiveness management role in Microsoft and train to become a ski instructor. She can still hear the cries of "are you mad?" ringing in her ears. Since then she's taught skiing, travelled the world, emigrated from London to Vancouver, learnt the art of helping people to envision their future and met some really inspirational people on the way.
Described as a life-change thought leader, Denise spends her time interviewing inspirational people, capturing their stories and continually researching life change ideas to provide inspiration to retreat guests and destineering.com web surfers.
Our Coaches
We've hand-picked the best coaches in the life-coaching business. The ones that are not only highly skilled at helping you find your direction, but also make it fun. Because, after all, exploring your dreams for the future should be exciting, right?
Michael Bungay Stanier – Life Coach, M Phil, BA
Michael Bungay Stanier, who also just happens to be the 2006 Canadian Coach of the Year, knows a lot about fun, in fact he's the creator of Eight Irresistible Principles of Fun. He also knows rather a lot about creativity and how to unlock people's potential, in fact he's written a book about it. So, he's the perfect host for some of our Destineering Retreats. But he's not just about the fun. There's an intellectual side to Michael too – he was a Rhodes Scholar, holds an M Phil from Oxford, a law degree and a BA with highest honours. All in all, a very well-rounded character who loves coaching people to uncover their full potential.
Jeff Balin – Life Coach, MBA, CPCC
Jeff Balin is a graduate of the renowned Coaches Training Institute (CTI) and qualified as a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach. He's also a member of the International Coach federation (ICF) and a facilitator for the Rigpa Buddhist fellowship. He's also received leadership and facilitator training through the Hollyhock Leadership Institute. So he knows a thing or two about the theory of coaching, but the reason we think so highly of Jeff is his sheer breadth of practical experience in coaching individuals - these include some of the top Social Capitalists, CEOs, Senior Executives and Entrepreneurs.
Jeff was selected as one of only 31 coaches in North America to the Certified Coaching Network. He's also one of the few fully certified professional coaches with a top-ranked Kellogg MBA and over 18 years of international business experience.
Clients describe Jeff as "the calm in the storm", providing compassion, clarity and grounding, yet someone who "hears between the lines" and says what needs to be said.
